CV – Emma Hope Allwood

Hi! I’m Emma.

I am a writer, editor, and consultant working across fashion, art, and culture.

I started my career at Dazed, where I worked until 2020 as Head of Fashion. As a writer, I have profiled a series of era-defining talent, including Billie Eilish, Hunter Schafer, Eve Babitz, Allen Jones, Barbara Kruger, Alessandro Michele, and Virgil Abloh. My insights have been quoted in features in the Guardian, Independent, and Business of Fashion, and I was also cited as a fashion expert by Instagram. My newsletter off brand – described as “part diary, part zeitgeist temperature check" – has over 3000 subscribed readers.

As a consultant, I work in a hybrid, highly personalised capacity in response to my clients’ needs: I’ve suggested TikTok talent for Celine, helped Gucci launch a social initiative, worked on guestlists for Chanel, written copy for Hermès, audited Byredo’s tone of voice, and created social media and brand strategies for Molly Goddard, Victoria Beckham, 16Arlington and more.

Since March 2022, I have held the title of Brand Manager for Marc Jacobs. Working part-time, I have overseen the LVMH Maison’s expansion into London across retail openings, events, and marketing campaigns.

I am an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins, and as a public speaker have interviewed Mario Sorrenti on stage at the National Portrait Gallery, given career talks at the V&A, hosted a panel at Somerset House, and led discussions for brands such as YouTube and Mubi. In late 2021, I curated an exhibition on British rave culture.
